Here is a quick drive-by edition of Surfing the Knit: the Guardian today has a short photo essay on Lucy Sparrow’s art installation, The Cornershop. The shop is a typical newsagent’s shop with one small exception – each and every item has been made out of felt:
That’s Lucy in the above photo holding a felt edition of the Guardian. The shop will be open for business in Bethnall Green, London, for all of August. Everything is for sale. I am definitely tempted by the Bounty bars.
And, of course, no felted shop would be complete without a donation can for the “Felt Knitted Cats Trust”.
